Reach your fullest athletic potential.

Walker’s offers experienced staff, specialized services, and modern facilities to help our athletes reach their fullest athletic potential.

Certified, licensed Athletic Trainer Kristin Nicolle has 25 years of experience as a head athletic trainer in private schools. She cares for all of the student-athletes that are involved in our Middle School, Junior Varsity and Varsity athletic programs, as well as equestrians, dancers, and many adult members of the Walker’s community.

Kristin is also fully trained in the treatment of concussions and manages Walker’s concussion program. During opening days, students take a Baseline ImPACT test, which provides a baseline report that is used during the treatment of a concussion and any additional testing that may be required. Students who sustain concussions work with Kristin throughout the recovery process, which includes the required return-to-play protocol. This is all done in close communication with the student’s parents and any outside medical professionals that may be utilized.

Located on the first floor of the Centennial Center, the athletic training room and adjoining Oasis gathering space has become a hub for students visiting Ms. Nicolle as part of their daily routine. Students interested in pursuing a career in athletic training have the opportunity to work with Ms. Nicolle, as a student athletic trainer, where they learn about different taping techniques, various injuries, rehabilitation exercises, evaluation skills, and the daily ins and outs of the athletic training profession.

Fitness

At Walker’s, you don’t need to be a three-season athlete to enjoy the health benefits and flexibility of individual training and fitness. Instructors are on hand during the co-curriculars and use the fitness space which includes several aerobics machines, weights, and agility equipment for sport-specific training or general fitness classes. Athletes can also access the fitness room outside of practices or seasons to improve their fitness and conditioning. Outside of interscholastic sports, we offer the following fitness programs.

  • Outdoor Adventure
  • Self-defense
  • Personal fitness
