2011-2012 Standardized Testing Schedule
The 2011-2012 Standardized Testing Schedule is as follows. It is recommended that students take the SAT once in the winter/spring of junior year, and again in the fall of senior year. Athletes who need scores for college coaches may want to test earlier.
Some highly selective colleges require Subject Tests. Those are best taken in May or June of junior year, especially if it is a subject area (like US History or Biology) that a student will not be studying as a senior. Students should check for these requirements by looking at the admission section of individual college websites.
Students are encouraged to take the ACT in the winter/spring. It is another form of standardized test that is more closely aligned with curriculum, and unlike the SAT, includes a science section.
