- Look into summer programs and Junior/Senior Project possibilities
- Visit colleges during vacations
January/February
- Complete student questionnaire
- Define college criteria
- Attend College Counseling Workshop on January 10, 2012 (required) 6:30-7:30 in Little Ferg
- Junior Family Program (February 18, 2012): college counseling workshops and meetings for parents and students (required for juniors)
- Preliminary college lists prepared by college counselor
- Attend College Counseling Workshop February 21, 2012(required) 6:30-7:30 in Little Ferg
March
- Meet with college counselor
- Attend College Counseling Workshop March 27, 2012 (required) 6:30-7:30 in Little Ferg
- Spring Break – great time to visit colleges

- Students prepare list of colleges to target during HAISSCCA (Hartford Area Independent Secondary School College Counselor Association) College Fair
- Attend HAISSCCA College fair (required for all juniors) April 17, 2012 at AOF (transportation provided)
- Meet with advisor and teachers about senior course selection – challenge yourself

- Attend College Counseling Workshop May 1, 2012 (required) 6:30-7:30 in Little Ferg
- SAT offered at Walker’s May 5, 2012
- Take AP exams if applicable

- Ask two teachers if they will write you a college recommendation letter before graduation and give them Teacher Recommendation Prompt form
- Research and visit colleges
