The Bell Library Art Gallery

The Ethel Walker School Art Gallery is located in the Bell Library. Artists are welcome to exhibit throughout the school year, and time is arranged for opening receptions for each exhibiting artist.

There are two exhibiting areas: Immediately as you enter the Bell Library, you are invited into the open yet intimate gallery space. It is about a 15’ x 15’ room with windows for natural lighting. This space provides a quiet and personal viewing of smaller and more detailed work. For artwork that is large and strong in color, the main floor of the library features several large wall areas for easy viewing.

Artists interested in exhibiting their work need to contact Grace Epstein at Ethel Walker at gepstein [at] my [dot] ethelwalker [dot] org.

Mellissa Escolas

by Mellissa Escolas Mellissa Escolas, of EWS dining services, is currently exhibiting her paintings May 7-May 18 with a reception on Friday, May 11 from 4-6 p.m. at the Bell Library Art Gallery. Escolas considers it a personal quest to find spiritual truth through art: "I believe art and religion/magic/prayer are all one in the same. The artist/magician sets out to conquer the universe. To succeed, he must make himself master of everything in it. Mastery of dark and light, evil as well as good, cruelty as well as mercy, and pain as well as pleasure. Everything has its place and function in the order of the universe (or work of art). All types of experience can be potentially rewarding." View more of Escolas' work at www.mellissaescolas.com.
