Campus Dining
Meals at Walker's are an essential part of their social life on campus. Friendships are developed and classroom discussions are often continued over meals in Abra's, the school dining hall.
Since many of our faculty live on or near campus, they and their families are often present at meals, adding to the sense of community. Students find that time spent in Abra's is much more than just "meal time" — it is a time to connect, laugh and grow.
The student-friendly, healthy menu in Abra's is varied and appealing, designed to meet the cultural and dietary needs of a diverse and growing community of students, faculty and staff. Vegetarian options, a salad bar, cold sandwiches and fresh fruit supplement the daily specials, which include traditional, contemporary and ethnic favorites. Special meal events like Sushi Day, Texas Chili Bar, Baked Potato Bar, and International Rice Bar add to the variety and fun. These special events give students an opportunity to try new cuisine.
There is an emphasis on supporting local agriculture whenever possible and new foods are introduced regularly. Abra's regularly offers healthy grains such as quinoa and wheat berries, edamame on the salad bar, and roasted winter squashes. Comfort food such as hand made pizza, pasta with hand made sauce, and grilled cheese are often on the menu as well. View the weekly menus to see what is being offered daily.
