Day Student Life

Walker's day students often arrive for breakfast and stay through dinner. With permission, day students may spend weekend nights with friends in the residence houses, and often arrange to do so when an activity such as a dance extends late into the evening. This is a terrific opportunity to enjoy the company of friends!

Likewise, as part of Walker's Boarders Exchange Program, day students often invite boarding friends to stay with them on weekends or during school breaks, providing an important link with family life and the surrounding communities. Just as day students comment on the advantages of meeting friends from all over the world when they come to Walker's, boarding students find their lives enriched by contact with friends and families who welcome them into their homes.

Day students have a representative on the Big Seven and a faculty advisor who functions much as the housefaculty do for boarding students. The day student locker rooms and the social center ("The Soc") are lively spots where students gather throughout the day.

Meals in Abra's, the school dining hall, are included in the tuition fee for day students as well as boarders, and all students are welcome at any meal.
