At Walker's since: Sixth grade

Why I chose Walker’s: The minute I stepped on campus, there was a warm and unique aspect of the school, and I just knew that this was the right place for me.
Favorite class: Freshman year English class was my favorite so far. I have always been a perfectionist of sorts and my teacher made me see that perfection was the journey I took to get there combined with my finished results; not just the grade on my papers.
Leadership positions: I am a proctor in Smith, and a co-head of the Cicerone Society. I hope to become head of proctors in my senior year.
Clubs/extracurricular activities: I am an old girl and a peer tutor for English and Latin.
Sports: I am on the Varsity Dance Team, Dance Workshop, which I do for all three of the sport seasons.
Something new I’ve tried at Walker’s: I tried field hockey when I was in seventh grade and it was really fun because I had never played on a real sports team. I have danced all my life so it was a whole new experience when I got to play in a real sports event.
Favorite spot on campus: The dorms. I always feel so at home when I am just hanging out with the other girls because the environment is so close and comforting. You could say that the dorms are my home away from home.
Favorite food/meal in Abra’s Dining Hall: Baked macaroni and cheese. My mom makes a similar dish so whenever it’s served, I always feel like I’m right at home.
Future plans/goals: I want to go to medical school to become a psychologist. I have always had a fascination with how the human mind works and how we work through our life struggles and accomplishments. I would either want to go into criminal or pediatric psychology.
How being at Walker’s has changed me: Walker’s gave me a confidence I never knew was inside me. When I first started school, I was shy and quiet. After five years at Walker’s, I am confident about who I am and what I feel. Walker’s gave me a place where it didn’t matter who I was and accepted me for the person I have become.
The most important/valuable thing I’ve learned at Walker’s: Never be afraid to ask for help. I had a problem that even if I were completely lost on something, I wouldn’t ask for help when I needed it. However, my teachers were so warm and open that I felt it wasn’t stupid to ask questions, which gave me a better opportunity to learn and grow.
Walker’s in three words: Learn, Laugh, Grow
