At Walker's since: Freshman year

Why I chose Walker’s: I chose Walker's because I was looking for a small school since I had come from KIPP Academy in the Bronx, which was small as well. I wanted an environment that I could feel comfortable in, so when I came to Admitted Students Day, I liked the atmosphere.
Favorite class: My favorite class will have to be French, because I've always wanted to learn a third language, after Spanish and English.
Leadership positions: I am a proctor, the captain of the Varsity Volleyball team, a Head of the Black and Latina Student Union, a Cicerone, and an Old Girl.
Sports: Varsity Volleyball
Something new I’ve tried at Walker’s: Something new I have tried at Walker's has to be the fried dough at Dogswood Day. I had NEVER had fried dough and when the first Dogswood Day happened, I fell in love.
Favorite spot on campus: My favorite spot is definitely the Social Center, because it’s so fun to be in there with people from each grade; everyone just goes to chill out and relax.
Favorite food/meal in Abra’s Dining Hall: My favorite meal on campus has to be the sushi bar after Chapel. They only do it once a year, but it's so good!
Future plans/goals: I plan on going to school for International Relations to be a translator, and after that going to Medical School. My goals are just to be successful in every aspect: economically, spiritually, and physically.
How being at Walker’s has changed me: Before coming to Walker's and coming from the Bronx and living in an environment where you constantly have to be on your guard and alert, going to Walker's has taught me that I don't always have to be rough and try to have my guard up all the time. There will be people that care for me and that will have my back and Walker's has definitely showed me that I have to adapt to living in places that I might consider uncomfortable.
The most important/valuable thing I’ve learned at Walker’s: The most valuable thing I have learned at Walker's is to stay true to myself; not to be narrow-minded, and to be open to different ideas while not losing myself and my opinions on the way.
Walker’s in three words: Comforting, Open, and Compassionate
