At Walker's since: Freshman year

Why I chose Walker’s: I chose Walker's because when I stepped foot on campus, I felt an instant connection. After seeing the school, the success of the Equestrian program, and the Equine Science program I knew that Walker's was the school for me. Also, the community we have is unlike any other boarding school I've visited.
Favorite class: My favorite class was Physics freshman year because my teacher was amazing. She made learning about the millions of actions occurring every day that are invisible to the naked eye interesting. She is a tough teacher, but that's what makes students want to succeed in her class.
Leadership positions: Last year, I was one of the heads of Step Club and Reggae Dance Club. For this upcoming year, my Junior year, I was elected as one of the heads of the Equestrian team and will continue as a head of Reggae Dance Club.
Clubs/extracurricular activities: I am a member of Walker's a capella group, the Grapes.
Sports: Last year, Walker's formed our first swim team for the Winter season. I made an ambitious move and decided to take on two sports in the Winter - swimming and riding. I have been swimming all my life so being on the swim team was the closest thing I had to my home country - that was my motivation to wake up at 5:00 a.m. every morning. :)
Something new I’ve tried at Walker’s: After lunch on a Wednesday, I picked up a lacrosse stick for the very first time and played catch with some of the other LAX girls. I absolutely loved it.
Favorite spot on campus: My favorite spot on campus is at the top of the Cross Country field where you can see Walker's beautiful campus. It's so peaceful up there and it's where I go when school work gets tough and I just need to clear my head. It works every time. :)
Favorite food/meal in Abra’s Dining Hall: I must say, my favorite meal at Abra's is at the Thanksgiving banquet. Everything is just so GOOD! The mashed potatoes are my favorite though.
Future plans/goals: The reason why I was so focused on the Equestrian and Equine Science programs is because I aspire to be a professional Equestrian and an Equine Veterinarian. Those two things have been my goals since I was 18 months old and I am never giving up on them.
How being at Walker’s has changed me: Walker's has changed me because I have grown as a person. It has taught me to make my own decisions and to focus on reaching my life goals.
The most important/valuable thing I’ve learned at Walker’s: I have always been an ambitious person but Walker's has confirmed that we can do ANYTHING we want as long as we set our mind to it and NEVER let anyone get in the way of what you want in life.
Walker’s in three words: Family, inspiration, extraordinary.
