At Walker's since: I've been at Walker's since freshman year, so this is my second year.

Why I chose Walker’s: At first sight, the beautiful campus of Walker’s captured my attention. When I visited Walker’s during an Open House and met Walker’s girls, I was impressed with how the small community that Walker’s creates allows every girl to know and take care of each other. By then, I was determined that Walker’s would be the school and my second home where I can be loved, safe and happy enough to focus on my academics.
Favorite class: My favorite class was public speaking, which I took during my freshman year. Although it was the most stressful course of my life, the reason why this class became my favorite is because it helped me to overcome my drawback and to be more confident.
Leadership positions: At the beginning of the year, I was the International Student Orientation leader. I am an Old Girl, a Cicerone (student tour guide) and a class administrator for the class of 2014.
Clubs/extracurricular activities: I am part of the chamber orchestra, cooking club, math club, Daemon, psychology club, and Chinese club. I was also the winner of the AMC test last year and was nominated as a Student of Merit at the Ethel Walker School this year.
Sports: I am a dancer here at Walker’s and I am planning to start riding this spring.
Something new I’ve tried at Walker’s: I realize that I have tried many new things at Walker’s. I became the International Student Orientation leader, a Cicerone and a class administrator which was most likely impossible for an introvert like me. Also, by coming to Walker’s I was able to try new sports like riding and dancing.
Favorite spot on campus: To tell the truth, I love every part of Walker’s - every bit is special and means something to me. But if I have to choose one, it would be the Bell Library because my advisor, Ms. Jackson, is the librarian, so I often go there and enjoy chatting with her. Also, the big and organized area of the library lets me to focus better on my work. There are computers and many books that are always available. Also, during my free time, I sometimes hang out with my friends at the library. The Bell Library is just such a calm and cozy place where I can focus on my work and sometimes hang out with my friends.
Favorite food/meal in Abra’s Dining Hall: I love eating anything besides vegetables.
Future plans/goals: I don’t have any particular goals because I am interested in many different areas. But one thing for sure is that I will attend a college in America. I am also recently interested in becoming a lawyer or a pharmacist, but it might change again soon.
How being at Walker’s has changed me: By attending Walker’s, I became more independent, confident and responsible. As an international boarder, I learned how to take care of myself and manage time wisely. Also, by taking part in several leadership positions in school, I gained confidence and leadership.
The most important/valuable thing I’ve learned at Walker’s: People say that there are things that you cannot help no matter how deeply you are willing to change it. I used to be crestfallen by my small drawback of being a shy introvert. But by attending Walker’s and putting forth my best effort to overcome this drawback, now I am a Walker’s girl who is part of most leadership positions in school. I realize that if one has a true strong will, it is not too late to make a difference. It is at least worth enough to give it a try.
Walker’s in three words: Walker’s is my friend, my hope and my future.
