True Colors Centennial Auction a Smashing Success!

Date:
02/21/11

Food, festivities, friendship - and bidding on some incredible and diverse items to benefit Walker's programs were the focus of the True Colors Centennial Auction held in Abra's this past Saturday. The event, tirelessly organized by the Ethel Walker Parents Association (EWSPA), brought together parents, alumnae, trustees, faculty and friends of the School for a gala evening with a live auction facilitated by former Board president C. Hugh Hildesley P'85, executive vice president for Sotheby's North and South America.

An online auction preceded the gala event, which featured a multitude of silent auction items as well as the live auction items. An African safari, a stay in St. thomas, a ski week and more were among the big ticket live auction items. Very popular was a trip to Sedona, AZ, as were a Fender strat, meals cooked and hosted by popular faculty members, beautiful jewelry by Elyse Ryan P'11 and other designers, spa services, riding and athletics gear and much more.

A delectable buffet catered by Emily's Catering Group was enjoyed by attendees. Most of all, it was an evening of fun and support of Walker's super programming. We thank all the volunteers and supporters for their generosity in this, our Centennial year.
