Walker's Athletic Hall of Fame Inducts First Class of Honorees

Among the multitude of celebratory events featuring during Centennial Weekend, one of the most meaningful was the announcement of the establishment of The Ethel Walker School's Athletic Hall of Fame. During Friday evening's reception, Athletic Director John Monagan spoke to the enduring strength of Walker's program, its athletes and its coaches.
"We teach Walker's girls to be competitors, teammates, and better people," said Monagan. Nominations for the Hall of Fame were accepted throughout the summer, resulting in the following inductions:
Ruth Cummings Meade '47: Hockey, Basketball, Golf and Tennis
Julie Welles '06: Equestrian
Sally Goodrich: Mentor and Coach
Courtney Hornberger '01: Basketball, lacrosse and soccer
Darrell Carrington P'02: Coach
