For the second year in a row and the fifth in ten years, Walker's varsity basketball team will compete for the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class C Tournament title.
High School Squash Nationals took place last weekend at Westminster School and the Walker's team was in Division VI. This was the first time that Walker's squash team has participated in Nationals in the history of the program.
Walker's Ski Team placed 5th in NEPSAC Class B championships. Combining the great individual results of the day, the team finished with an overall score of 88.
The Ethel Walker School hosted its first National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) on Saturday February 15. The event was open to girls in grades three through seven, and offered clinics in basketball, squash, dance, and riding.
In a game against long-time rival Miss Porter's on Wednesday, February 5, Hannah Iwaszkiewicz '20 became the first player in Walker's basketball history to score 1,000 career points.
Lauren Cleaver '20, Lily Cullen '20, Kathie Ludz '20, Shiyue (Kitty) Huang '20, Ava Rivera '20, and Kathryn Mason '21 were all named to the Keith Waldman - Optimal Performance Associates/National Field Hockey Coaches Association High School National Academic Squad.
Earlier this week, Walker's varsity field hockey coach Mimi Duran was honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for her 300th win which occurred this fall during the team's regular season.

Walker's varsity field hockey team has been a dominant program over the last decade under Head Coach Mimi Duran. Since 2007, the team has qualified nine times for the post-season New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class C tournament, and in back-to-back seasons, the team was named NEPSAC Class C finalists.
