Student-athletes on the Middle School lacrosse team are taught to learn and love the game. Our students from grades six through eight spend their practice time understanding the fundamental skill sets such as cradling, throwing, catching, scooping and shooting the ball, that will allow them to become better players in the future. Our Middle School team plays an interscholastic schedule of games against area schools.
At the most basic level, the Middle School program encourages participation for each player, and with that participation comes the growth of a competitive spirit and a joy in playing lacrosse.
Coach Stephanie Belsen played field hockey and lacrosse at Bay Path University in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. After being a part of USA Field Hockey's You Go Girl mentorship program in 2013, Stephanie caught the coaching bug. Shortly after that experience, she began coaching in Longmeadow with their youth sports program. In 2015, Coach Belsen earned her Connecticut Coaching Certification. She began coaching at Walker's in the fall of 2017 with the JV field hockey program.
