We are continuing with the development of a plan to test members of the community, both adults and students, for COVID-19 beginning in early February and continuing at various intervals throughout the semester. The CDC has advised that anyone who has already had COVID-19 not be tested within a 90 day window of a positive diagnosis. It is with this in mind that we are writing with a request for information about any of our students who have tested positive for COVID-19 since November 20, 2020.
All students who have tested positive for COVID-19 since November 20 must have a parent or guardian fill out the following form. Your reply will be forwarded only to the Health Center and will be held in confidence. A copy of the test results should also be emailed to Director of Health Services Joyce McIntyre at email@example.com.
The purpose of this request is twofold:
As we engage in rigorous testing upon return (further details will be shared with you shortly from Head of School Dr. Meera Viswanathan), the CDC does not advise testing individuals within 90 days of testing positive as they could possibly still be shedding the virus yet are not contagious.
If your student has had COVID-19, please have your physician write a note saying she is in good health and able to return to the activities of a boarding school. For those who were significantly ill with COVID, we ask that this report includes a cardiac evaluation.
Please direct all of your questions to Joyce McIntyre at firstname.lastname@example.org. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
