Involvement: Dance Workshop, Class Officer, Science Club, Head of Asian Student Collective
“Hi! My name is Alisha. I’m a boarder, an international student, and I joined Walker’s in fall 2019 when I started my freshman year here. I think being a Cicerone is important because I have the opportunity to share my happiness and accomplishments as a student at Walker’s. Walker’s Art Department is very strong, and as an artistic person, I’m eager to show you the dance studio, Ferguson Theatre, the art studio, and all of the other amazing facilities on our beautiful campus. Welcome to Walker’s!”
My favorite part of a typical day at Walker’s is Morning Meeting. I love hearing about the things happening on the campus, I love the senior speeches, and I love how our community is gathered in the Chapel like a big family. Every day, I look forward to learning new skills and knowledge from my classes and sharing my life with my friends.
I think the biggest benefit of attending Walker’s is that I’m learning and growing up in a small and warm community. I feel like the students in large schools can not get enough attention from their teachers. In contrast, Walker’s is such a small and warm community where every student can get enough focus and care from the faculty, advisors, and each other.
During free time, I usually go to the gym and do a workout, go to the music room to practice cello, go on Area Drive with my friends to buy snacks, do homework in the library, and hang out with my friends in the common areas outside Diddle’s.
