“Hello my name is Ana and I came to Walker’s in eighth grade. Being a Cicerone is important because we introduce and share what we love about our school in order for other girls to see if they would like to join our community as well. I aim to show families what it’s like to be a Walker’s girl and make sure they leave our campus knowing almost everything they need to know about Walker’s.”

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

I definitely didn’t think I would be doing taxes for people in Hartford, which is what I do now through VITA and overall I think it was a great experience. I learned to communicate with people and see how much this process means to them.

What do you think is the biggest benefit of attending Walker’s?

Having small class sizes, it’s rewarding knowing your voice is being heard and you are able to share your ideas even if others may not agree.

How do you feel you have grown (academically, emotionally, mentally) since your first day at Walker’s?

I have definitely grown academically – seeing how much my grades have improved since my freshman year is amazing to me. Mentally and emotionally, I am a much more extroverted person now. Looking back at how I was in the past, I didn’t think would ever happen.
