“Hi! My name is Eliza and I have been at Walker’s since freshman year as a day student. I’ve loved my experiences as both a rider, learning to navigate riding as a team sport, and as a Cicerone. As a Cicerone I enjoy making friends with the families visiting the school, learning about their interests, sharing my experiences, and offering advice and suggestions to ensure their visit is the best possible one.”

What is your favorite class, and why?

Advanced Topics in U.S. History (ATUSH). I loved the challenges of conducting my own research papers and getting to intensively study history in short periods of time.

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

I never thought I would be involved in the volunteer income tax assistance (VITA) program, let alone be nationally certified as a tax preparer.

What is your favorite part of your typical day at Walker’s? What do you look forward to every day?

I always look forward to any opportunity I have to go to the barn. Whether it’s before school for some morning cuddles or after a tough test when I’m feeling down, the barn has always been my safe space, and having it just across the street has made the biggest difference in my life.
