“I came to Walker’s my freshman year. It was my first time at in-person school since the start of the pandemic, so I was super nervous. The Cicerones at school really took the edge off of transferring to a new school where I didn’t know anyone, which is why I think they are so important. Since coming to Walker’s, I’ve tried to involve myself in lots of activities, like student council and sports, and met a lot of people!”

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

A unique experience I had was decorating the halls for Spirit Week. I didn’t expect to be so involved in school spirit, however I was proved wrong. The school spirit activities are super fun at Walker’s.

What is your favorite part about being a boarder?

My favorite part of being a boarder at Walker’s is the community in the dorms. After being in the dorms for a while, you get very close with everyone and it becomes like a second family and you get close with a lot of people you normally wouldn’t be.

What advice would you give to an incoming Walker’s student?

Just try everything! Putting yourself out there and signing up for as many activities as possible is a great way to make friends and find new interests. Also, try things even if you aren’t good at them because you could end up liking them!
