“I came to Walker’s freshman year as a day student. I’m chose to be a Cicerone because I love Walker’s and I want to help other girls find their place. I hope to show prospective families the magic of our community and what it means to be a Walker’s girl.”
My favorite part of my day is eating lunch in Abra’s with my friends. I love talking and laughing with my friends and getting to connect with girls who I don’t have classes with. It’s such a simple thing but it is one that I look forward to every day.
The biggest benefit of attending school at Walker’s is having small, all-girls classes. This creates an environment where no one is afraid to be themselves and we all feel comfortable taking risks. Because of this, girls at Walker’s are always growing and challenging themselves.
I feel I have grown the most in my willingness to participate in classes. Before coming to Walker’s, I was very shy and reluctant to speak up in class, even when I was confused. Now, I am much more confident in myself and my ideas. I make an effort to raise my hand in classes and use my voice. Because Walker’s offers a comfortable place where I feel safe to be myself, I know I will continue to grow.
