“Hi! My name is Grace. I joined the Walker’s community as a freshman and it has been one of the best decisions of my life. To me, being a Cicerone is wonderful because I get the opportunity to share my experiences and love of this amazing school. I can’t wait to meet prospective students and families and show them this community that became my second home – and that it can become theirs, too!”

What is your favorite class and why?

I enjoy most subjects that involve math and science, but Physics definitely takes the cake as my favorite class. Dr. Mitchell is an amazing teacher and the class was never boring. Between labs and experiments, she kept learning fun!

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

My freshman year, I didn’t run for a position in student government because I was shy and wasn’t out of my shell enough to put myself out there. I regretted not running for a position the rest of the year. When sophomore year came around, I ran for class vice president and won! It is something I did not think would happen but am so glad that it did.

What advice would you give an incoming Walker’s student?

I would say to get involved in different clubs, sports, and activities. One of the greatest things about Walker’s is all of the opportunities that are available for students. Especially within the first few weeks of school, getting to know others through shared interests is a great way to form long-lasting friendships.
