“My name is Joey and I am a senior. Being a Cicerone was something I’ve wanted to do since sophomore year! I think being a Cicerone is so special because when I had a tour of the school, my Cicerones made Walker’s so special. I want to be able to do the same thing. I want people to see that Walker’s is so unique. The community here is so opening and welcoming and I want them to see why Walker’s is the place to be!”

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

I loved the cultures represented when joining. From the Asian assembly to the Black History Month assembly, we are able to learn more about other’s cultures and history!

What is your favorite part of your typical day at Walker’s? What do you look forward to every day?

I love being able to sit with the coaches by Diddle’s in between classes when I have a break. We always share how our day has been and are constantly laughing.

What advice would you give an incoming Walker’s student?

The best advice I can give is to not be shy. While that can be hard in a new environment, Walker’s is extremely welcoming. Everyone’s nice and always ready to be friends, help you find places like the classroom you need to be in, or how to do simple things like how to transfer money onto your laundry card.

What do you think is the biggest benefit of attending Walker’s?

Walker’s is one of the biggest confidence boosters. I know that since I’ve been here, I’ve gained so much confidence. The girls in this community are so loving and will be so quick to compliment each other.
