Involvement: Equestrian Team, Big/Little Program

“I’m Julia and I entered Walker’s as a freshman. I found out about the school through my brother, who goes to school nearby and knew about Walker’s. I am also an equestrian and wanted to attend a school that would cater to the sport I enjoy and want to become successful in. Walker’s was a perfect fit for my interest because of the amazing riding program and the strong academic program. I also wanted to remain in an all-girls school because of how well students are taught about women’s empowerment, which is very important to me. I chose to apply as a Cicerone because ever since I toured Walker’s I realized how much I would love to show off the school and I want to encourage others to attend and be as happy as I am. I aim to share my experiences and how the Walker’s community has affected me with prospective families.”

How do you feel you have grown since your first day at Walker’s?

I have become more confident in myself academically and emotionally. I have started to come out of my comfort zone and try new things and take up more leadership roles.

How do you think Walker’s has prepared you for your future?

Walker’s has prepared me for the real world beyond high school by learning how to overcome any obstacles that might be in the way of achieving my goals.

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

In my free time, I like bonding with my friends and getting to know them more. I also enjoy riding and hanging out with my horse and going on Area Drive.
