“Hi, my name is Katherine. I am a senior at Walker’s, and it is my third year being a Cicerone. I like my job because I enjoy talking with new people and introducing my favorite school to them. I hope families have a better idea of what Walker’s is like from my firsthand experience.”

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

My unique experience has been being on the equestrian team my first year at Walker’s. I never rode a horse before, but I tried it out and I made a lot of new friends.

What is your favorite part of your typical day at Walker’s? What do you look forward to every day?

My favorite part of the day is usually the time after study hall. As a boarder, the dorm faculty always prepare something special for us, like some games, snacks, etc. It is relaxing to talk with them and my friends after finishing my homework.

How do you feel you have grown since your first day at Walker’s?

I have become more independent and confident as a girl. Walker’s has taught me how to manage my time – I became more disciplined and better at making agendas for my schedule. Also, living in a dorm has not only taught me how to take care of myself, but also how to care for others and be supportive. I always feel loved and cared for when living in the dorm.

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

I really enjoy music, so during my free time, I like to practice the piano and the flute in the practice room. Also, I will go to the gym to do some exercise on weekends.
