“I joined the Walker’s community in my freshman year and I love being here! I have never been to a place where the bond between everyone is so strong and that’s one of my favorite things about Walker’s. Being a Cicerone is important to me because I truly want to leave an impact on Walker’s and being a Cicerone is one way to do it. Also, when I toured the school, I quickly admired the student-led tours and knew that I wanted to be a part of that. Something that I think is important to show prospective families is that although Walker’s is an all-girls school, I have come to see that it’s the best environment to learn and evolve as a student and a woman growing up in the world.”

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

Just recently, I learned that I am the new co-head of BSU. Before even attending Walker’s, I knew that I wanted to be a part of the BSU in whichever school I would go to. But, to be the co-head is something I never thought would happen. Yet, I am so grateful to have this position and use it to the fullest potential. I know that my motivation came from being at Walker’s. Seeing people that look like me have leadership positions lets me know that I can do it too and in the future, I hope to gain more positions.

What advice would you give an incoming Walker’s student?

Don’t be afraid to try new things. Whether it’s sports, an advanced class, or joining a club, go for it. It may be scary at first but it will all pay off in the end. You will meet so many amazing people and most likely build meaningful connections because you have a shared experience. Even if you are really shy, I would say to just try it and if you don’t like it, then there’s probably a way for you to switch to something more comfortable.

What is your favorite part of your typical day at Walker’s? What do you look forward to every day?

I always look forward to having meals in Abra’s. My friends and I have the most fun in Abra’s when we get to sit down and eat together. At dinner, we get to reflect on the day we’ve just had and catch up on things that have happened during our sports or in classes earlier. Whether we’re all laughing or complaining about the next big thing, it’s always a good time. The reason that I look forward to this event every day is because I do the same thing at home. That’s another reason why I’ve come to love Walker’s so quickly and now it feels just like home.
