“Hi! My name is Nadine and I first came to Walker’s at the beginning of my sophomore year. I am excited to be a Cicerone so that I can connect with new families, and share my experiences and knowledge about the school with them. I hope to provide all necessary information, along with my own unique perspective, and to help show prospective students how Walker’s is a great place for them.”

What is your favorite class and why?

My favorite class is definitely Advanced Biology! I have loved science classes for as long as I can remember, but this class holds a special place in my heart. Dr. Piela makes learning challenging topics fun in the most engaging and unexpected ways.

What is a unique experience you’ve had at Walker’s that you didn’t think you’d be involved in when arriving at Walker’s?

Last year I had the opportunity to take an engineering class with a handful of other students. Before I had this experience, I never would have imagined that engineering would be something that I would be able to do, or even be interested in. During this class I discovered so much about engineering that I did not know before, and now it is something that I am considering as a career in the future.

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

My favorite thing to do during my free time is to play my cello in many of the gorgeous locations across campus. Whether that be in the chapel, theater, or one of the many practice rooms, I always find playing a way to relax after a challenging day or reset between my classes.
