Involvement: Spring Musical, Personal Fitness, Horizons, and Dance
“Hi! My name is Sofia and I joined the Walker’s family in sixth grade. I have been a part of this community for the past five years and have embarked on so many adventures through Walker’s. Being a Cicerone is so important because it gives me the opportunity to share my own story and love for Walker’s. When prospective families come to visit, I aim to give a glimpse of everything Walker’s has to offer and show the lasting impact it has had on me.”
A unique experience I’ve had at Walker’s was stargazing. In 8th grade, my earth science teacher, Mrs. Greshin, took our class at the top of the hill near the barn after dinner to stargaze. We spent about an hour up there in the freezing cold, but it was worth it. The sky was clear enough to point out the Andromeda galaxy, a few constellations, and other celestial bodies. This was by far one of the most interesting experiences I’ve had at Walker’s. I never thought I would have been involved in this when arriving at Walker’s.
The biggest benefit of attending school at Walker’s is being surrounding by a group of powerful, intelligent young women every day during the school year. The Walker’s sisterhood is so important and the bonds we make with each other last years beyond graduation. The environment Walker’s has created is so supportive and wants to see every girl succeed. Walker’s helps me grow confident and pushes me to be the best I can be every day.
My favorite thing to do in my free time is make crafts. Crafting makes me feel so relaxed and serene, leaving me in that state for the rest of the day. Whether it be making a DIY craft from Pinterest or something I came up with myself, I always seem to enjoy doing it. When a project or craft is finished, it makes me feel so satisfied and accomplished.
