Involvement: Field Hockey, Skiing, and Softball

“I came to The Ethel Walker School as a freshman. My sports are field hockey, skiing, and softball. I have always wanted to be a Cicerone. I feel the tour guide is an important part of choosing the school you want to attend. I want to be able to show my favorite parts of campus, talk about all our traditions, and highlight all we have to offer at Walker’s.”

What is your favorite class, and why?

My favorite classes have always involved math. I have always done well in math, and I have always had a mathematical brain. I like to be able to figure things out and math allows me to do that. At Walker’s, the math teachers are passionate about what they teach and have helped to expand my knowledge of the subject.

What is your favorite part about being a boarding student?

There are so many things that I love about being a boarding student, but one that stands out is being able to hang out with friends in the common room after study hall. Whether I am cooking food, watching a movie, or playing games with friends, it is nice to be able to take a break and relax.

What advice would you give an incoming Walker’s student?

I would tell every incoming Walker’s student to enjoy every second that they get at this amazing school. Walker’s is unlike any other school and has become my home away from home. I cannot believe that I have already been here for two years. The time seems to have flown by, so enjoy every second that you get.
