Walker’s White Anti-Racist Community Dialogue
August 13, 2020 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm EDT
All members of the alumnae community are invited to join us for a series of bi-weekly conversations on Social Justice, Equity and Inclusion in Affinity groups. The first of the series will begin with reflection on where we have been, where we are and where we are going as part of a dialogue on what is possible as the Walker’s community moves forward towards racial justice.
These events are a continuation of the gathering for alumnae of color that began during Alumnae Weekend in May. This bi-weekly series will continue through the summer on July 16, July 30, August 13 and August 27, and turn into a monthly dialogue series from September through May.
Join the Director of Social Justice and Inclusion Elisa Del Valle Cardona for an overview on “Where we’ve been and where we are” Followed by a dialogue on where we need to go with Dr. Emma Mitchell and Ms. Noel Grisanti, lead members of the Walker’s White Anti-Racist Educator Group. Through education and reflection members of the White community at Walker’s will discuss Anti-Racist practice and how they can assist Walker’s as it moves forward towards Racial Justice.
This dialogue is open to any self-identified white members of the Walker’s community. There is a dialogue for self-identified Black, Indigenous, People of Color alumnae and students run by the Director of Social Justice and Inclusion on July 15, July 29, August 12 and August 25. Please see the details above.
Members of the Walker’s community should check email for information on how to RSVP to join this VIRTUAL event.
