A graduate of Harvard and MIT\, his passion for this work stems from his own experience going through the process alone as a first-generation college student. \n\n\n\nIn partnership with Miami-Dade and Broward School Districts – the nation’s 4th and 6th largest respectively – Paul has recorded district-wide trainings for counselors and workshops for students on financial aid and paying for college. He works with 20 independent schools nationwide to offer his curriculum and individual advising to students of diverse economic backgrounds.

SUMMARY:Reading and Book Signing with Carmen Giménez
DESCRIPTION:Carmen Giménez\, our spring Visiting Writer\, will be on campus March 26-29. We welcome the Walker’s community\, as well as the general public\, to attend a reading with Ms. Giménez on Thursday\, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. in Ferguson Theatre. Refreshments and book signing to follow. \n\n\n\nThe Ethel Walker School Visiting Writer Seminar is a semester-long course in which students have the rare and special opportunity to immerse themselves in a study of one writer’s works\, something few students of English at the undergraduate and graduate levels experience. Throughout the semester\, students read a critical mass of texts by that writer\, developing a deep and abiding knowledge of that writer’s style\, form(s)\, and ideas. The course culminates with a visit by the author to Walker’s. Through master classes\, writing workshops\, and readings to the community\, students are invited to ask the questions that only the author can answer. At the end of each semester\, students in the Visiting Writer Seminar collaborate on a final project in which they conceptualize\, layout\, design\, and publish a class anthology of works\, inspired by the writings of the visiting writer.
