International Relations Students Visit United Nations Headquarters in New York City

Jenn Pelletier's International Relations/Model UN class is preparing to represent Japan at the upcoming World Affairs Council of Connecticut Model UN, held at the University of Hartford at the end of the month.

As part of the program, students traveled to New York City to meet with a diplomat at the Permanent Mission of Japan to the UN. He briefed the group on the Secretary-General's "year for peace" initiative, then fielded student questions about their debate topics, including children and crime, the feminization of poverty, human rights, and mental health.
