Nine Students Receive Scholastic Art Awards

Nine students have received awards for their artwork in the Scholastic Art Awards, the nation's longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in grades 7-12 (artandwriting.org). Congratulations to Elinor Tandberg '21 (Gold Key), Tianyi Huang '21 (Silver Key), Jenessa Lu '21 (Silver Key and Honorable Mention), Lena Van Der Klis '21 (Silver Key), Alice Gu '22 (Honorable Mention), Amelia Holl '21 (Honorable Mention), Joyce Kouami '22 (Honorable Mention), and Tina Tang '22 (Honorable Mention).

These students will be a part of the exhibition at the University of Hartford. The Art Awards Ceremony will take place at Lincoln Theatre on the University of Hartford campus on Sunday, January 26 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This year, Walker's Visual Arts program had 15 students submit a total of 29 pieces to be considered for the Scholastic Arts Awards.
