Walker's athletics program is pleased to announce that Diane "Dee" Stephan P'10, '11 has been named lacrosse coach for the 2020 season after her interim position for 2019. Stephan, whose two oldest daughters graduated from Walker's, has spent the last eight years as the director and owner of the Dodgers Lacrosse and Field Hockey Club. Stephan has coached girls from grades three through 12 across 11 states within the Dodgers program. While rooted in learning lacrosse, the program emphasizes the growth and maturation of all players while successfully helping girls to find the right collegiate fit, both athletically and academically.
Stephan spent time working in education for over 25 years as both a teacher and athletic director. In these roles, she coached teams to state tournaments. She has coached four All-Americans and ten Academic All-Americans athletes. Stephan has served as head lacrosse at the University of St. Joseph (West Hartford, CT) and as an assistant field hockey coach at Syracuse University.
Stephan is a member of the Connecticut Lacrosse Hall of Fame and former U.S. Lacrosse Board of Directors where she served on the Women's Game Committee, the Sport Science and Safety Committee and the Women's Rules Committee.
