Student Qualifies for American Invitational Mathematics Examination

Elizabeth Cao '22 has qualified for the prestigious American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME) due to her outstanding score of over 100 on the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 10 that she took last month.

Only about 2.5% of the thousands of test takers are selected to participate in the AIME, a challenging competition offered for those who excelled on the AMC 10 and/or AMC 12 (maa.org). The AIME is a 15 question, three-hour examination, with each answer being an integer number between 0 to 999. The questions on the AIME are much more difficult than those on the AMC 10 and AMC 12.

Top scoring participants on the AIME are invited to take the United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO) or United States of America Junior Mathematical Olympiad (USAJMO).

Congratulations!
