Walker's athletics program is excited to announce that Diane "Dee" Stephan has been named interim lacrosse coach for the 2019 season. Stephan, whose two daughters graduated from Walker's, has spent the last eight years working with the Dodgers Lacrosse and Field Hockey Club, an organization she founded and owns. Stephen has coached girls from grades 3-12 across 11 states within the Dodgers program. While rooted in learning lacrosse, the program emphasizes the growth and maturation of all players while successfully helping girls to find the right collegiate fit, both athletically and academically.
Stephan spent time working in education in both the Canton school system and previously as Walker's athletic director. In these roles, she coached teams to state tournaments and including four All-Americans and ten Academic All-Americans scholar athletes. Stephan was the head lacrosse at the University of St. Joseph (West Hartford, CT) and as an assistant field hockey coach at Syracuse University.
Stephan is a member of the Connecticut Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the U.S. Lacrosse Board of Directors. She served on the Women's Game Committee, the Sport Science and Safety Committee and the Women's Rules Committee.
