2018-2019 Varsity Basketball

Our basketball program stresses the development of a selfless attitude while on the road to success. Shared team goals around achievement, competition, and both group and personal growth have created a program that pulls the best out of each program member. An encouraging and supporting environment has allowed the achievement of these goals, which has translated to success for both the team and the individual.

Season End Recap

Retuning to NEPSAC Tournament

Basketball completed its season qualifying for and participating in the NEPSAC Class C tournament. The team has qualified four times in the last nine years.

Walker’s regular season record of 13-7 allowed the team to advance to post-season play, earning the #5 seed. Walker’s battled against #4 Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Massachusetts, leading for the entirety of the second half until falling by 3 points in the last seconds of the game.

Head Coach John Monagan said, “This game nor our result fully recognizes our successes this year. I couldn’t be more proud of our team, our student-athletes, and what they accomplished together this year. Getting back to the NEPSAC Tournament was a great step for this team, and one we look to build on as we look ahead to next season.”
