The junior varsity team is an integral part of the field hockey program, where players have regular opportunities to move up to the varsity level. Past players have gone on to play at Division I, Division II and Division III collegiate programs.
Walker’s field hockey program competes in the Western New England Prep School Field Hockey Association (WNEPSFHA), a division of the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC). Walker’s is a Class “C” division competitor, and also competes in the prestigious Founders League. League competitors include Choate, Taft, Hotchkiss, Loomis, Westminster, Kent, Kingswood Oxford, and Miss Porter’s.

Megan is no stranger to the field hockey field. Coach Mulhern joins Walker’s coaching staff after several years of coaching at Westminster School, and teaches in the English department. Prior to joining Walker’s, Coach Mulhern taught several English courses at Westminster School and the YK Pao Secondary School in Shanghai, China, where she developed a school-wide reading program. Coach Mulhern also taught at The Lawrenceville School, The Emma Willard School and worked for the Center for Talented Youth at Johns Hopkins University. She earned her B.A. in English from Brown University and her M.A. in Literature from Middlebury College.
