The program emphasizes team building in order to achieve individual success by producing athletes who are physically stronger, more confident, willing to take risks, and who understand the importance of goal setting and unity.
Walker’s swim program competes in Division 3 of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC). Walker’s is also a member school in the prestigious Founders League. League competitors include Choate, Taft, Hotchkiss, Loomis, Westminster, Kent, Kingswood Oxford, and Miss Porter’s.

Julia Sheldon has been swimming her entire life and at this point probably has more chlorine in her veins than anything else. She swam competitively from elementary through high school and her swim career culminated with a top eight finish in the 100 backstroke at the Central California Sectional meet during her senior year. Outside of coaching, Dr. Sheldon serves as a teacher in the science department and is an upper school advisor.
