The varsity volleyball season opened with a high note with the scrimmage against MacDuffie, who went on to have a very successful season in Class C. The entire season was spent in an atmosphere where student athletes could have a good time and learn about volleyball. It was a season where some of the Walker’s athletes stayed later or came back from a game and asked their friends to play volleyball. The courts were always a busy, a sign of growing interest in the sport.
The team developed sportsmanship throughout the many sets that were so close, fighting for each and every point. The life skill of learning to have the humility to accept defeat and reflect upon how one can improve in the future and to come out stronger and as a more cohesive team was gained. The season culminated with a strong performance on Senior Day and three all-stars finding much success in the All-Star game.
