Year-End Activities

Students from all grades and their families are encouraged to participate in our virtual year-end events. For those who are unable to join during the published times, recordings will be available to view at a time of your choosing. 

Details regarding all year-end events can be found on this page. Please be sure to visit the page before each event; if there are additional details, we will post them in this location. We also will send details in forthcoming Walker’s Weekly and in emails to the community.

Below are the details for the year-end events and information about what is included in each of these celebrations. An email with log-in details is being sent to members of the Walker's community. Log in details also will be available on this page one hour before the event begins.

Year-End Activities

Senior Goodbye

Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
This live virtual event is for faculty, staff and students of the Walker’s community. Seniors have been offered an opportunity to make remarks and class deans will welcome students as they advance to their next grade. 
 

Senior Alumnae Welcome Event

Hosted by the Alumnae Board

Monday, June 1, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.
During this live event, the Alumnae Board will welcome the Class of 2020 into the Alumnae Association. They will chat with seniors in small groups, take questions, celebrate their induction as alumnae and share a brand new way of connecting with other alumnae for mentorship, internships and more!
 

Senior “Dinner”

Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.
This year, Senior “Dinner” will be a live virtual event for seniors, advisors of seniors, invited faculty and administrators. At this event, seniors will hear from the senior class dean, members of the yearbook staff who will present this year’s yearbook dedication and an invited faculty member will deliver remarks.

 

Eighth Grade Promotion

Friday, June 5, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.
All members of the Walker’s community are invited to view this recorded celebration of eighth grade students as they advance into the Upper School. Participants will be able to use the live chat feature to cheer on their friends while listening to comments made by student advisors about each eighth grade student and Walker’s administrators. Middle School President Kayce Campurciani ’24 will deliver remarks on behalf of the class.

 

Prize Day

Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
This year, the time-honored tradition of recognizing student accomplishments with prizes and awards is presented in this recorded live-streamed event. This event includes prizes and awards for Upper School students. Among the prizes are recognition for academic achievement, athletic and riding achievement, community service, character and other special recognitions. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to congratulate students using the live chat feature. All members of the Walker’s community are invited to join this presentation.

 

Tribute to the Class of 2020

Sunday, June 7, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
Family, friends, students, faculty, staff and all members of the Walker’s community are invited to participate in this year’s “Tribute to the Class of 2020.” This recorded, live-streamed event is our community’s opportunity to celebrate the members of the Class of 2020. This year has been like no other and this class is like no other in the history of our school. They have shown intellect, resilience, passion, humility, and an unwavering determination that has seen them through to their last days as students at The Ethel Walker School. They are to be honored and celebrated. 

During the presentation, the live chat feature will be available so that members of the community can share their congratulations with the members of the class. Remarks will be delivered by Head of School Dr. Meera Viswanathan, Student Body President Kyleigh Holt ’20 and an invited faculty member, Dr. David Thacker.
