
The Ethel Walker School is delighted that industry-leading venture capitalist Annie Lamont will deliver the Commencement address at its 114th Commencement next month.
Mrs. Lamont’s role in shaping healthcare through investment and innovation has been monumental and truly inspiring. She co-founded Oak HC/FT in 2014 to invest exclusively in healthcare and fintech entrepreneurs. Prior to founding Oak HC/FT, she spent 28 years at Oak Investment Partners, where she served as a Managing Partner, leading the healthcare and fintech practices.
“We are delighted that Annie will be in conversation with our graduating class, all of whom have studied a core financial literacy curriculum as part of our Walker’s Capabilities Approach,” says Head of School Dr. Meera Viswanathan. “Her role in shaping healthcare through investment and innovation has been monumental and truly inspiring.”
Over the course of her career, Mrs. Lamont has invested in category defining companies across the healthcare and financial services industries, including Aspire Health, athenahealth, CareBridge, Devoted Health, iHealthTechnologies (now Cotiviti), NetSpend, OneMedical, and VillageMD.
Mrs. Lamont has been named to Forbes Midas List, recognizing the top 100 technology investors in venture capital, multiple times. She also served as a core participant of the Health and Human Services Deputy Secretary’s Innovation and Investment Summit (DSIIS).
In addition to her portfolio company board seats, Mrs. Lamont serves on the Board of Directors for Bloomberg Inc. and has served on the Board of Trustees for Stanford University, from which she holds a B.A. degree.
