Mission

Respect, love of learning, confidence, courage, conviction, and integrity.

The Ethel Walker School is an independent, college preparatory, day and boarding school for girls in grades six through 12 plus a postgraduate year.

The Ethel Walker School mission is to create a nurturing and stimulating environment in which girls can emerge joyfully in their full potentiality and diversity as astute and collaborative thinkers and doers who will, through their lives, powerfully and positively impact the world.

Integrity

Everyone at Walker’s is guided by the principle and pursuit of integrity. Walker’s students have strong moral principles and stand up for what is right.

Respect

Walker’s women see each other as collaborators, not competitors. Students respect peers and faculty in an environment where immediate acceptance emboldens students to be actively engaged in all aspects of campus life.

Confidence

At Walker’s, girls forge their own paths. Graduates of all-girls’ schools are more likely than peers from coed schools to speak up and pursue their passions with confidence.

Courage

Experiences and challenges that motivate girls to achieve their best happen in all aspects of school life. At Walker’s, girls have the courage to take risks and try new things.

Conviction

Walker’s students are confident in their beliefs, and bring a crucial voice to community dialogue. Our students are committed to social change and make transformative impact.

Love of Learning

Walker’s academic environment boasts exceptional faculty who are united in their dedication to making rigorous inquiry an enjoyable, lively process.
