Soccer (Middle School)
vs. The Rectory School

Today the team faced Rectory for the second time this season. After a long bus ride the team had energy and confidence going into the game.

The beginning of the game saw great play on both sides, battling for possession. Walker’s worked and hustled on every single play, not allowing Rectory to settle into the game. Gabby, Gigi, Ellie, and Scarlett were major contributors to the defensive efforts and ball control in the first half. Maya also played well, clearing many dangerous balls out of the box. The first half ended 0-0.

In the opening minutes of the second half Walker’s came out lacking intensity and focus. Rectory was able to capitalize on this with numerous runs into their final third, ultimately scoring on a 2v1 fastbreak. Down 0-1, Walker’s regained their composure and worked hard to push the ball up the field. Elsie and Stella both had multiple runs up field, fighting through defensive contact. Although Walker’s played a great game, perhaps the best this season, the game ended in a 0-1 loss.

The growth this team has shown this season has been incredible, despite a couple of disappointing outcomes. They should all be very proud!
