vs. The Rectory School

We had another great game today, facing Rectory at home. This team continues to improve with every game, and they played incredibly well today!

Walker’s started strong against Rectory, playing with confidence and purpose. Play was directed by Gabby and Gigi in the defense and Amelia in the midfield. With a couple of missed opportunities early, Walker’s stayed motivated and were able to score the first goal. Avalon kicked a free kick toward the goal, allowing Stella to tap it in for the goal. Walker’s were able to score about 10 minutes later in the first half again with a beautiful hit from the left hand side from Leisl! Walker’s ended the half up 2-0.

After half time Rectory made some subs, putting some older more experienced players into the game to direct their team. This second half surge allowed Rectory to score twice, tying the game with about 10 minutes left. As the second half progressed Walker’s worked hard to move the ball up the field, but faced faster and stronger Rectory players on their offensive runs down the field. Walker’s were able to score their third goal of the game playing a dangerous ball into the box, where Avalon was able to capitalize on the opportunity and tuck one into the goal. Rectory was able to answer in the final minutes of the game, to tie the game 3-3.
