Walker’s traveled to Canterbury on Saturday afternoon to open up their season. After a slow start, Walker’s went on a 14-0 run to close the first quarter and take a 17-3 lead into the first break. Canterbury was much improved from previous years, however, and fought hard throughout the whole game. Walker’s was able to limit good looks from Canterbury’s shooters, and, with many newcomers on their roster, Walker’s had everybody on the team get a good look at what it means to play NEPSAC basketball. Walker’s will next take the court on Wednesday in a strong road test at Loomis.
