vs. Greens Farms Academy

Walker’s was happy to host Greens Farms for a big class B battle on Saturday afternoon. The two teams had great games going back several years, and this year was another example of two strong programs that, despite moving up a class this year, continue to excel. Walker’s held GFA to just 7 points in the first quarter, and 17 in the first half, and was able to take a 24-17 lead into the halftime break. GFA made a run to start the third quarter, though, and it took great calm under pressure from Walker’s team to survive the push and deal one of their own. Walker’s led by just one headed into the fourth quarter but outscored GFA 18-7 in the final frame to take the 12 point victory. Walker’s was led by Saige Youngberg ’24, Majo Escobar ’22, and Jordan Smith ’22 offensively, while Mikayla Mobley ’22 played inspired defense throughout. Walker’s moves to 12-3 on the season with the win.
