Walker’s won a tightly contested game at home on Wednesday afternoon, earning a 7 point win over Founders League opponent Miss Porters. The two teams played evenly in the first quarter, ending the eight minute session tied at 16. Walker’s played great defense in the second quarter, limiting Porter’s to just 3 points and taking a 28-19 lead into the half. Coming out of the break, Walker’s hit a dry spell offensively and allowed Miss Porters to start the half on a 7-0 run, narrowing the lead to just 2. However, Walker’s finished the quarter with back to back 3s and started the fourth quarter with back to back 3s and extended the lead back to double digits. Walker’s continued to get big baskets when they needed to, and sealed the game down the stretch with defensive stops and made free throws. Walker’s heads into long weekend looking ahead at another match-up against a Class A Founders League opponent when Taft comes to Simsbury next Wednesday.
