Ethel Walker hosted Founders League opponent Taft on Wednesday afternoon and used a strong second half to earn a 47-38 victory. Taft shot the ball extremely well, and Walker’s did well to stay even with the Rhinos through the majority of the half. A last-second basket by Taft gave them the 2 point lead heading into the half. Walker’s talked extensively at the break about pushing the defensive intensity a step further, and they did so in the third quarter. Walker’s forced turnovers and Taft started missing some shots, and Walker’s used a 14-5 third quarter to take a 7 point lead into the final quarter. After scoring the first few baskets of the fourth quarter, Walker’s was able to extend the lead to 11 and took control of the game. Walker’s moves to 11-3 on the season and will hosts Greens Farms on Saturday.
