vs. Cheshire Academy

The Ethel Walker School’s varsity soccer team hosted Cheshire Academy on Saturday afternoon for their third home game of the week. Cheshire jumped on the scoreboard in the opening minutes and then scored late to secure a 2-0 victory on the day.

Jenna Hamel ’25 continued to show her skills between the pipes in Walker’s goal on Saturday when she made a save in the opening seconds. Unfortunately, Cheshire was first to the rebound as they took an early lead. Hamel would finish the day with 19 saves to her name, and she was dominant off her line and on crosses into the box.

The result was tough for Walker’s, but they recorded 13 shots on the day and forced Cheshire’s goalie into five saves. They will be back on the field on Wednesday, October 19, when they travel to Pomfret. The kick-off is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.
