Walker’s continues to show improvement with a heartbreaking 5-4 walk-off road loss to Cheshire Academy. Despite falling behind 4-1 entering the last inning due to some defensive miscues, Walker’s continued to fight and tied the score at 4-4 thanks to timely hitting by P. Arevalo ’25, A. DeSio, and A. Riendeau ’25. A late two-out rally by Cheshire at the bottom of the 7th inning brought them the win and disappointment amongst the Walker faithful, but it also brought a renewed sense of excitement for the progress being made. Shoutouts to our pitcher, A. Riendeau, for a solid outing supported by her catcher, K. Dabkowshi ’26, who called a great game. Special kudos to our second baseman Stella W. ’29, who had a great double play and a solid effort in the field. More work is to be done to reduce and eliminate mistakes in the field and base running as we head into a busy next two road games against Loomis (Friday) and Suffield Academy (Saturday), but we are excited about the development of our players to date.
